Obsidian is a natural volcanic glass formed as igneous rock. Our mahogany obsidian plugs are a gorgeous reddish brown with color variation and black flecks throughout. The stones used to make these plugs were mined personally by the maker near Davis Creek, California. These plugs are made in the United States with pride, care, and enormous attention to detail by someone who literally knows rocks inside and out. The geologist who supplies us with these gorgeous pieces is a excellent friend, an avid caver, collector, miner, stone whisperer and traveler, and an inventor with an unwavering aesthetic and a keen eye for beauty. We recommend these plugs to any discriminating body modification aficionado. Our stones were hand selected, and in some cases, mined, by an artist who lives for stones, and each party piece has been treated to remove the minerals that are known to cause adverse reactions in those with sensitive skin. If you have never worn stone body jewelry, we cannot recommend the experience highly enough. Stones ability to absorb the bacteria that commonly builds up in body piercings [mainly punched and stretched ear lobes] is supreme. Many of the stones we carry have been used for centuries for their healing properties, and many have astrological / cultural / magical / religious / spiritual implication.
